Theater Production Program
Season June - October 2026
Focus: Comedy
Discover the complete process of creating a theatrical production and experience the unique thrill of performing on stage before a live audience.
Over the course of 12 weeks of rehearsals, creative exploration, and collaborative work, participants will immerse themselves in the world of theatrical comedy under the guidance of Vicente Albarracín, an acclaimed director, playwright, screenwriter, and educator with more than 35 years of experience in theater, television, and digital media throughout Latin America and the United States.
This new season of IMAGO POR LAS ARTES' Teatro Montaje program will be inspired by The Learned Ladies (Les Femmes Savantes) by Molière, one of the great comedies in the history of theater. Written more than 350 years ago, the play humorously explores themes that remain remarkably relevant today: appearances, the pursuit of social prestige, family conflicts, and the distinction between genuine knowledge and the mere appearance of it.
More than a traditional stage production, this project will bring Molière’s world into a contemporary context, creating a dialogue between a classic masterpiece and the challenges of our modern times.
Throughout the process, participants will develop skills in acting, character development, movement and physical expression, text analysis, stage presence, and collaborative creation, while taking an active role in both the production and the artistic vision of the performance.
The workshop will culminate in three public performances on October 1, 2, and 3, 2026, at the NJB Cultural Center, offering participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of live theater and share the result of months of work, growth, and collaboration.
No previous experience is required—only curiosity, commitment, and a desire to discover the transformative power of theater.
